An unlikely beginning to a sweet story

At the hand of economic COVID-19 hardships, Mathew Rice—premier pastry chef and Chopped champion—found himself unemployed in 2020. Faced with an uncertain future, he turned to what he loved best—crafting delicious cookies, with an emphasis on flavors from his childhood.

Connected to a dedicated Instagram community, he soon was filling weekly orders out of his Nashville home. To ensure contact-free pick-up, orders were left outside—next to Mathew’s pink front door. Pink Door Cookies was born.
